Thank you kindd!
I'll definitely try your suggested remedies.
Several months ago I visited my family doctor for a problem
that had nothing to do with my excessive thirst when eating
spicey foods. I mentioned that until the last couple of years
I could eat anything I wanted with no problem. Like you,
I thought diabetes might be a remote possibility. Blood tests
showed that I was ok.
I think I was able to live without some of my favorite foods
because I'm not addicted to any of them. Most of my friends
would be depressed if they had to give up something like
ice cream for the rest of their lives. Not me. I just substituted
other foods for the spicey ones.
Thanks again, kindd.
Hello,
Excessive thirst is common after eating salty and spicy food. This is because salt which contains sodium and chloride, the body uses water to flush extra sodium away and hence one feels thirsty.
There is no proven remedy as such which can be a remedy for excessive thirst except water ,but it has been found that adding a wedge of lemon or orange peel, a sprig of mint or fresh coriander to water helps a lot. Drinking plenty of non-caffeinated fluids, such as tender coconut water, fresh lime water, butter milk or milk shakes also helps. But if the symptom of excessive thirst persists then diabetes has to be ruled out.
Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep us posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
