Sinus infection?

I've had a sinus infection for about 4 weeks now. After the second week I thought it had disapeared but i woke up one morning and it hit me like a truck. I feel very worn out, facial pressure, espically right under the eyes and around the nose. Within the past few days, I have not been able to breath out the left side of my nose. It feels plugged up and needing blown, but when I do blow my nose, nothing comes out. I had surgery for a Deviated septum over a year ago and they told me that it woudl cut down on my sinus infections. It almost seems like i have had more since then. . I was hoping that this would run it's course, but should I go to a doctor for this?

What about the headache with the cough? I have had sinus headaches all through my life, and even had to have my sinus drained at a young age because they are so bad. When I cough, I am having a throbbing pain in my forehead. Is that just because of the frontal sinuses being infected?

Hello and hope you are doing well.

Sinus infections can cause stuffiness of the nose with nasal blockage, which can make breathing through the nose difficult. It can also cause post nasal drip and lead to an irritation in the throat. Sinus infection causes blockage of flow especially when a person lies down. The blockade is affected by the side to which the person turns also. You will need to consult your primary care physician for proper assessment. In the meantime take OTC naproxen for relief from pain, practice good breathing exercises, humidify your room and do steam inhalations.

Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

Thank you for the help. I did break down and call the dr. But with my schedule at work and her schedule at teh office, I can't get in till Wed. . I just hope that I can make it a few more days! It's gotten to the point where when I have my cough, the front part of my head starts pounding. . .

I don't think that we have anything around this area that has an urgent care place but I would have to check out the Walgreens that we have close. Either way, I like going to see my dr beacause the last time I went to a walk in clinic or something like that, I had to go back to my dr because they said that nothing was wrong with me.

I totally understand about not having the money to see a doctor.  However, for me seeing one in a timely manner is much cheaper than putting it off.  I just go anyway.

You can try an urgent care place or a pharmacy clinic like CVS and some Walgreens have.  They should be able to handle your basic sinus infection or bronchitis pretty well.  They are also reasonably cheap.

I hope that helps.

God bless.

I tried doing a naselnex sample that I had, but when I went to spray it up my left nostral, it just came right back out. . , but I'm not a person that likes to put stuff up their nose. I have just been taking generic things from like Walmart. . I really don't have the money to go see a dr. . . But I know that I probably should. I think that it's moved to my chest, as I am getting a really bad cough.

I'm not sure about the sinus polyps. . I haven't ever been told that I had them.

Yes, it is past time to see your doctor.

Are you doing sinus rinses like with a neti pot or rinse bottle?  That reduced my sinus infections.  What medications are you on?  Proper maintenance care can also reduce the number of infections.  Do you have a history of sinus polyps?

I would like to help you more.  I know repeat sinus infections are not fun.  Let me know if you have more questions.

God bless.
