Sinus/URI Cure Besides Antibiotics?

Like the other 99% of the population of my city, I seem to have a sinus and upper respiratory infection of some sort.   I can't tolerate antibiotics, they make me very ill.  The last time I was on antibiotics, I landed in the e.r. with nausea and a panic attack.

Is there any way to clear up an infection or URI bug other than with antibiotics?

Thank you -

Hi, welcome to the forum, it is a problem in few patients who suffer from upper respiratory tract infection. Such cases should be carefully evaluated and systematic intervention to prevent further recurrences.

Firstly you should know that few cannot tolerate particular antibiotics, in such cases alternative antibiotics can help. Antibiotics are quiet important in cases of bacterial infection which will reduce the duration of illness. Apart from antibiotics, anti pyretic, taking nutritious diet including fruit juices will improve the immunity. Body has its own immunity and will be able to take care of infection.
See if you have
-Heavy exposure to allergens (change in place may help)
-Exposure to noxious inhalants (change in place may help)
-Worsening of inflammation secondary to bacterial infection or fungal colonization.
It is important to rule out mentioned causes and steps should be taken to avoid further exposure.

I suggest you to consult ENT specialist. Take care and regards.
