Swollen node behind ears

My daughter had a swollen node behind each ear after wearing a cheaper pair of earrings.  This was her first pair of earrings after getting her ears pierced.  We had them lanced, the fluid was tested for infection, and it came back negative.  We waited a while, and she got them repierced about 7 weeks ago.  She is starting to get the swollen nodes again.  Is this an allergice reaction?  Should I take out the earrings altogether, or should I replace them with 14K gold?  Thanks for your help.

Hi
Welcome to the MedHelp forum!
If the earring has got stuck and there is a fold of skin over it, then this will have to be scarped by your doctor. After this you will need to apply antibiotic cream for some days. During this time keep moving your earring so that it does not get stuck again. You can try removing the skin tag (in all probability it is infectious material stuck) using a cotton swab dipped in antibacterial solution but it would be better to get it done at a doctor’s.
Hope this helps. Take care!

Hi
Welcome to the forum!
It could be an allergic reaction to the earrings if the fluid is clear for infection. This could be causing the lymph node swelling. Gold earrings should help.
Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
