I posted this under Airborne Allergies because that is one of the last of the options yet to be exhausted. The truth is, I have no idea what is going on. I am a 20-year old caucasion female. I went to the doctor, who labeled me from the get go with acne and perscribed doxycycline. This, however, has not worked.
Instead of rambling on about EVERYTHING I've tried to cure myself of this condition I am going to bullet a few key points.
POSSIBILITIES I'VE ELIMINATED:
-Bacterial
-Allergy to skin care products (including make-up)
-Allergy to food
-Allergy to drugs.
SYMPTOMS and CONDITIONS:
-Skin colored, painless bumps under the skin on my face which get irritated/infected and turn into full-blown sores (everywhere except for my nose, with different degrees of severity, worst being cheeks)
-Started with itchy patch just under the side of my jaw line (that I distinctly remember scratching at shortly before full-blown spread of rash)
-Area around bump and bump itself gets reddened and swollen, pustule surfaces (ofcourse I pick) --> spreads?
- mildly itchy
-rash gets worse throughout the day
- I will admit it DOES look like acne, I believe this to be because I get red scars easily and have inflammatory-prone skin the sores
- Literally happened OVERNIGHT. I had next-to-perfect skin which was dry, yet well polished. My face got EXTREMELY oily and puffy for about 3 days and when these two "abnormal" conditions subsided I was left with all of these bumps
-It is progressively spreading. In fact, I even developed one on my eyelid.
INFORMATION which MAY be relevant:
- I have 3 cats and live in a small apartment
- Allergic to Mold (which I believe my house to be contaminated by)
- Fungus (My ex boyfriend had excessive yeast on his skin and pimply butt)
- Appeared in a matter of days
- Degree of severity fluctuates throughout the day
- I believe it to be superficial (infact people don't even notice it unless I tilt my head perfectly in the light...even I don't see it at times)
- One appeared on my eyelid
- I WAS frequently using tanning beds
I know it seems slightly superficial to say it is "ruining my life," but it really is. I went from perfect skin to COMPLETELY flawed skin in a matter of days I am BEYOND frustrated because I see no hope for this rash going away as I have been battling it for about 3 months now.
If you have ANY input what-so-ever please do share. I am desperately seeking answers, and it seems my doctor doesn't want to listen. I am an uninsured 20 year old college student who can't afford expensive caring doctors. =)
