Hello Ceiwia,
It sounds to me like you have sensitive skin. Simple is a good brand.
I've used it myself. I also have purchased the facial gel in the Simple line.
I liked it a lot and it agrees with my skin. Yesterday, I did an experiment
of sorts. When I took my shower, I made the water hotter than
I usually use. When I stepped out of the shower, I wouldn't call it a rash
because it didn't itch, but the skin on my back and especially my chest
was what I would call blotchy. Then after anywhere between 10 and fifteen
minutes the redness vanished. I don't take baths only showers.
You have to be a bit wary of bubble baths. It's been my experience that
most bubble baths have ingredients my skin doesn't agree with.
Like choo choo, when I take a shower with cooler water, I don't get the
red blotches. I've heard it's actually better for your skin not to use really
hot water, don't know if that 's true, but I think I read it heard it somewhere
recently. If any of this information has been helpful, I'm glad. Eve
I use a soap brand called Simple and it's free from any perfumes and designed for sensitive skin. I've also tried changing the temperature of the water. Thanks for the ideas though :)
P.S. Occasionally I have also found that the rash appears if I cry and the tears reach my neck.
Hi,
Does it matter what temperature the water is? I get red blotches all over my skin if I take a hot shower or bath. If I use cooler water, I don't get the blotches. I'm sorta sensitive to water temperature, in that, what's hot for me isn't very hot to other people. I don't know if this is the case with you, but I thought I'd mention it.
Hello ceiwia,
I just finished reading your comments. What soap do you use if you don't
mind me asking ? I found out many years ago that I'm very allergic to
a soap called Ivory. I washed my face with Ivory at night and when I woke up the next morning, my face was covered in little tiny bumps that itched.
Perhaps you are allergic to your soap as well. I do have sensitive skin
and I have to be very careful in the soaps and shower gels I choose to
use. Do you take really hot showers ? This could possibly cause blotchy
red rashes too. I've never heard of anyone having a water rash.
You mention you use bubble bath sometimes too. What's the name of the
bubble bath ? You could be allergic/sensitive to one of the ingredients
in the bubble bath. If you really can't figure out what's going on, you might
need to see a dermatologist. Where I live you have to see your family
doctor first. Then your family doctor can give you a referral to a dermatologist. I wish you well. Eve
