Wheezing..., a problem?

I find that I occasionally will wheeze only after intentionally exhaling air with the utmost effort. My breathing tests were normal through a Pulmonologist I saw recently. I have GERD and post nasal drip. Could this wheezing sound be coming from my throat like it feels? I find myself clearing my throat often which seems post nasal drip related. I can do vigorous workouts without shortness of breath. Any thoughts on this matter.
