Xopenex HFA/ Side affects on small children

My 6 year old grandaughter often has to take Xopenex HFA for asthma related issues. It makes her extremely irritable, she has a bad temper and in general is very mooddy? Is this a side affect?

THANK YOU! SHE HAS BEEN TAKEN BEEN UNDER THE CONSTANT CARE OF HER PEDITRICIAN. HE DID SAY IT "COULD" CREATE THIS TYPE OF SIDE AFFECTS IT SOME CHILDREN. BUT I WANTED TO SEE HOW WIDESPREAD IT WAS. WE TOOK HER OFF THE MEDICINE TWO DAYS AGO AND SHE HAS RETURNED TO HER NORMAL SWEET SELF. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH I DID FIND OTHER PARENTS  EXPERIENCING THE SAME. IT APPEARS THAT IT INDEED APPEARS THAT ONLY "SOME" KIDS HAVE THIS REACTION.

Although it can cause nervousness and many other ill side effects, bad temper does not seem to be one of them.
The temper could stem from the asthma itself...because she is 6 she is still trying to find ways to express feelings, pain, etc.
It's possible that she's acting this way because she's feeling nervous from the medication or from the asthma itself...remember that it's a scary thing not being able to breath.

I would take her to see a pediatrician to do a full evaluation on her...just to be safe.
