My daughter had allergy scratch test on her back with no reaction. We left the doctors and I took her back to school. A hour and a half later she had a reaction. She had hives, abdominal pain, diarria, headache, racing heat, and a couple of blisters on her back.Took her back to the doctor. They gave her Zertec and benadril. It took about five days for reaction to stop. Doctor did two diferent candida test later had to have them check in two days with no reaction. But a week or so later she is sick again. I read that normal peaple have a reaction to candida. What does this mean? I have tried to look up illness of this kind but they are vaige. Please Help? My daughter is 10 years old and has allways been healthy until july ,08. She gets fevers alot too.

Thank you for writing back. My daughter has about one reaction a week, with hives, abdominal pain, headach and just dosen't feel right. She has not had a fever in about 4 weeks. Her doctor sent us to MUSC for blood work,Delayed hyper sencetivity, antgen, mitegen, tetines and candida test. We've only gotten back tetines,it was a little low. Other blood work, iron was borderline, and folic acid was a little low, white blood was fine.No strep or mono, thats what they thought at first.I like her doctor she seems really smart,(to smart maybe). She's just really hard to talk to.So any info would be great.Thank you.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi
Thanks for writing to the forum!
I am so sorry to hear about your daughter. Reaction means that an allergy like symptom to the test dose develops like redness and necrosis at the site or rash etc. Your daughter could be allergic to the test material.

It appears that she is suffering from fever on and off. Can you please provide some more details to enable us to help you better.

Hope this helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Please consult your daughter’s pediatrician for this. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
