i have browns spots everywhere:in need of a answer!

ok so i went to the doctor a few month ago to get these brown spots i have on my stomach and near the underarms. like right under where you grow your armpit hair and above it also. when i went to the doctors they told me that they knew what it was but they couldn't pull up a picture for me. i kinda forgot what she said it was called but then she gave me a prescription for it. it's ciclopirox cream 0.77% .i've been using it ever since i got it but i just noticed that it got worser. it started to spread everywhere on my torso. it used to be on my stomach area going in a straight line towards my belly button but now it's gone to the sides of my torso. i'm afraid it will reach my back and i won't be able to reach it. it's also on my neck  but not much. it covers my stomach but stops at my breasts. the doctor also said that it was from the sun and that others get it too during the summer and that it should go away in the next summer. i had it last year and it was only minor. but now it's grown into a lepoard! i sorta look like a cheetah..im trying to find things on the internet and i came across hyperpigmentation and things like that. but when i saw pictures it didn't quite match my skin.please reply back. i'm in desperate need of an answer. PLEASE PLEASE answer back.

Hello,

These may be brown spots due to overexposure to the sun. The sun causes the cells that produce melanin to react and protect the inner layers of the skin. Melanin is the product that the body produces to get a tan. It is a protective reaction for the skins inner layers. Laser surgery or use of retinoids or alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) combined with bleaching agents such as hydroquinone and kojic acid are helpful in these cases.

Second possibility is of liver spots. They are the flat brown spots which appear on the skin as a result of accumulation of a yellow pigment called lipofuscin in the connective tissues of the body, due to aging of the collagen-producing cells. Eat high quality food, exercise regularly, drink plenty of water and avoid constipation. Avoid too much exposure to the sun and take vit E and A supplements. Also take foods rich in antioxidants like fresh fruits and vegetables, yellow vegetables, flavonoids (in blueberries, blackberries and cherries) and sulfur-containing amino acids (in legumes, eggs, garlic and onions).

Pls discuss these possibilities with your doctor. If still the symptoms do not improve then consider consulting a physician and look out for haemachromatosis.

Take care and pls do keep us posted on how you are doing.
