and im getting a little worried about the whole sinus infection. if its yellow in the morning
but clear durring the day is that a good sign?
and will it clear up on its own? i havent had any medicine.

Hello,

Of course the golden rule for chronic stuffy nose is steam inhalation. Inhaling steam from a bowl of hot (but not boiling water) may help to soften, and loosen, the build up of mucus in your nose. You may also find that adding some menthol crystals, or eucalyptus oil, to the water, helps to ease your symptoms of catarrh.Take plenty of steam atleast three times a day.

Also use saline sprays and warm water gargles. Also use throat lozenges or throat sprays and cough suppressants. They are available over the counter.

Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing if you have any additional queries.

Hello,

Your symptoms are typical of pharyngitis or upper respiratory tract infection. It is due to pharygitis or sore throat which occurs sometimes in association with sinusitis. It usually occurs when viruses (or sometimes bacteria) from a cold, flu, or sinus infection involve the throat.

Upper respiratory tract infections can lead to inflammation of sinuses which in turn lead to excess production of mucus which on non drainage can lead to pressure on the sinuses and hence headache and a feeling of dizziness.

The treatment depends on the underlying cause. Viral infections are managed with warm salt water gargles, pain relievers like aspirin., and fluids.Rest adequately and use saline nasal sprays. If you are feeling uncomfortable with cough, take over the counter cough suppressants. Also use throat lozenges or throat sprays. They are available over the counter. Antibiotics are needed if bacterial pharyngitis is diagnosed.

Regarding your IUD,well the bleeding and abdominal cramps don’t seem to have any relation to the URI symptoms that you are having. For this you need to get yourself properly evaluated from a gynecologist.Regarding the medicines in your son’s case, the above treatment is applicable in his case also(EXCEPT aspirin and throat sprays).

If there is any fever then antibiotics are needed.Pls consult a pediatrician in that case.

Hope this helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional doubts.
