Hello,

Pls don’t stop prednisolone at once.Corticosteroids like prednisolone are to be slowly tapered in dose and then weaned off.On sudden stoppage, there can be many side effects.I sincerely advise you to consult your doctor who has prescribed you prednisolone and then decrease the dose as advised by him.Pls do not do so on your own.

Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing.

I have had severe breathing problems for years and am on Prednisone often.(about 2 times a year for past 15 years or so) It works!  Its not something to over use, but if sick, and your having a hard time breathing, it should help dry up sinuses and nasal drip quickly, should feel better in 2 to 3 days no problem. Make sure you take it for duration prescribed though. Unfortunatly prednisone has kinda gotten a bad rap, because doctors over use the drug sometimes, and it tends to just mask more serious problems, but as far as taking it for airway constriction, i'm all for it!

I have  heard that statement numerous times about being weaned off of Prednisone.  Why were you taking Prednisone?  I am trying to avoid the use of it if possible.
I just went to the doctor very sick with congestion, fever, cough, nasal drip, sinus pressure.  She told me she thought I might have COPD, and if things did not clear up she also gave me a prescription for Prednisone.  I told her I do not want to take it, but she gave me the prescription anyhow in case I needed it.
I am looking for some information myself as to what is it supposed to do for you.
