Help with allergies

Have you any ideas what I can do about the allergies I have , this year seems worse than ever, what natural  meds are there out there the OTC other stuff makes me feel sick . I am sneezing, horse voice, eyes sore and watering , the other day I ran out to get the mail, I got to the mail box as the van left in a flurry of dust ,there is a strange looking tree beside the mail box, its got greenbuds/seeds on it, well immediatly my eyes were running I couldnt see and the pain was horrible ,I think it must have been pollen or something blown up by the van .  sorry, its a Brit thing... being long winded , at least thats my excuse ..so what can I get what can I take ....?

It's a very tough year for tree pollen, I'm having trouble, too.  What I use is the homeopathic tree pollen formula by BioAllers (same co. as Natra Bio), homeopathic allergy pills by both A. Vogel (Bioforce) and Heel (BHI).  Natural histamines I use are freeze dried nettle leaf from Eclectic Institute and Bromelain, quercitin, and Vitamin C combo from Nature's Life, but Source Naturals also makes a very good one, it's just more expensive.  Other good natural antihistamines are scutellaria (Chinese skullcap, not the European skullcap) and there are others but that's enough for one post, no?  They should work better for you than for me; I take the nettles and the bromelain all the time as anti-inflammatories for my bad discs and bad knee and such.  The tree pollen formula really helps keep it in sort of control; without it I'm sneezing non-stop.  Comes from having parents who smoked like chimneys -- all the kids developed bad allergies, and my brother asthma.  I guess growing up in LA didn't help, either!

My MD practices kinesiology. I didn't go to a chiropractor. I got rid of all my food allergies and the inhalant allergies he tested me for. And the results are fast and permanent. Regular allergy doctors have an easy life. The patient never gets better, never gets worse, and doesn't wake you up at night.

Sorry about the best answer business.  Don't know how one gets one, but it does seem to make others' answers seem less good, and I don't claim to know the truth of that.

Did that work for you?  There's a chiropractor around here who's always advertising that for allergies.  I'm curious about it.

Sorry, I said histamines, I meant antihistamines.  Which reminds me, taking homeopathic histamine can also be helpful.  And a product called Moducare helps modulate the immune system; allergies are essentially caused by an overactive immune system.

Marg, you can buy over the counter allergy drop for your eyes. Use a Netty Pot for your nose
and keep the humidity in your home between 30%- 50% If you have central air keep the fan on
and a good filter in it.

As far as I know there are no really non-pharmaceutical product to fight allergies really well. What you need is a lot of antihistamines and you can obtain them from various food sources. I'm thinking about citrus fruits since they contain good amount of vitamin C too.

For a complete orthomolecular approach I would have a look at this website.
