Isn't it amazing that so much non-surgical knowledge has been lost to today's medical practices. My uncle, the doctor mentioned above, always considered surgery a last resort, and first looked to gentler methods of healing. I am sorry he is dead. But I am fortunate to have found a doctor (outside the HMO megabusiness) who is filling in very nicely.

I recently did the epsom salt one with olive oil.
I felt like I was going to die, until the next morning.
Then I felt better.
I didn't get the results most people had,but I felt a lot better.

I relate this story for what it is worth. My grandmother developed gall-bladder trouble (I presume gallstones). My uncle, a doctor, did not want her to undergo surgery as she was old and had a weak heart. So he tried an old remedy. She was to eat some heavy cream every two hours (I presume to force the gallbladder to work). The upshot was that she recovered without surgery.

It would be the herb.  It's the same thing, but the herb is from the plant, not from a cooked artichoke.

would that be artichoke the vegetable you get in the grocery store? Or some form of herb?

Thanks for the info...

The herb is actually turmeric, circumin one of the active ingredients standardized turmeric is standardized for.  It's good for the liver, but for gall bladder you'd want to combine it with at least artichoke.

the herb curcumin, which stimulates the gallbladder
to release its bile. Curcumin also has antibacterial
and anti-inflammatory properties that help prevent
infections and inflammation in the organ.

Obesity is also a major risk factor for causing gallstones, but if a person becomes pro-active about their diet and health, you may be able to flush your gallstones in days and return back to a normal lifestyle. Thanks for the recommendation.

Natural way to flush gallstones.
Drink  juice of 5 apples(2 glasses of pure apple juice) everyday  for five days and eat normally. This softens the gallstones.
On sixth day eat nothing(only drink warm water), do not take any medication. At about 6pm, mix one tablespoon epsom salts in water and drink it.Repeat epsom drink after 2 hours.
After 2 hours, mix thoroughly, half cup olive oil, half cup orange juice and  juice from one fresh whole lemon.Drink this mixture quickly, standing up.Lie down on your right side for at least 20 minutes.Next day have fruit juice and fruit first and then resume normal eating.
The gallstones will be softened and will be flushed out.

The Yog Pranayam (breathing exercises) will help dissolve the gall stones and should be done in addition to the above.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after 1 minute.

Bhastrika - Take a long deep breath into the lungs(chest not tummy) via the nose and then completely breathe out through the nose. Duration upto 5 minutes.

Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day. Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently.

Thanks for the info.

I looked up and found that ACV and water, 1/2 cup of each helps with the attacks. I tried it, and it did help.

Might want to see a naturopath for that one.  I know a formula for kidney stones from Planetary Formulas called, appropriately enough, Stone Free.  The basic herb is called, again appropriately enough, gravel root.  Don't know about the gallbladder, but that company is a good one to consult about it -- very knowledgeable people.  I do know the herb artichoke helps the liver deal with the breakdown of fat before sending bile on to the gallbladder, which helps keep the gallbladder healthy.  I'd call Planetary Formulas and see what they say.
