L-Tyrosine-Effective amounts

I have been taking 500mgs of L-Tyrosine first thing in the morning, along with 500mg B12 and DHEA 5mg. Just wondering if I'm getting as much as needed or not enough. I'm needing the energy boost in the morning.Mornings are still pretty tough and I'm still drinking 2 cups of coffee, and still taking a little dive mid morning. I thought the energy may last pretty much all day! Thanks everyone!

For a boost in the morning (when I am half dead) my alternative medicine MD has me take Corvalen. This contains D-ribose, inulin, organic carnauba wax, cocoa bean powder, mannitol, modified cellulose, coconut powder (milk), stearic acid and silicon dioxide. It is made by Integrative Therapeutics. It also comes in chewable form (good taste). I do not take it at night. I have more than enough energy once the sun sets.

This really works which is why I don't take it in the evening.

This is going to be dependent on the person, particularly how much protein you eat, tyrosine being an element of protein.  But tyrosine is interesting -- it's energizing force comes from its use in manufacturing norepinephrine, but it also helps in manufacturing serotonin, which of course might be relaxing you as well.  Also, I hope you're not taking it with meals.  Amino acids are best absorbed when taken apart from a meal.  As for lasting all day, nothing will do that but good nutrition and a healthy attitude.  The best thing I've found for jumpstarting lagging energy is meditation in the afternoon and some super food such as spirulina, royal jelly, bee pollen, wheat grass, or the like.  Gives you very high levels of nutrients, and the super green foods will give you large doses of chlorophyll, which has the same molecular structure as hemoglobin and therefore oxygenates your blood.  When you use nutrition for energy, it's best to divide the doses through the day so you keep digesting them.  And remember, caffeine leads to a crash after the up, so coffee must be used addictively to keep the boost going.  You can also perhaps charge the DHEA by also taking pregnegalone, but I will not offer any tips on the healthfulness of doing so in the absence of a hormonal imbalance.
