Glad to hear from u! Been checking to see if there were new posts from you.
Now we have another thing in common, I too have fibromyalgia . It totally *****, may you have an easier time getting some help with that! Only recently has the medical community accepted fibromyalgia is real!! That is so messed up.
I am having a series of extra bad days between MS, Fibro, TMJ and anneurYsms...feel like crap.
Are u an anxious mess? I hope not. I don't meditate very often but when I do I am able to knock back headache pain a bit.
What is vestibular therapy ? Hang tuff, only choice :). Nicky
To add to My April comment - I was diagnoised with Fibromialgia in June/July(as a result of trauma injury and lack of sleep). I go thru several days with pain and fatigue. I recently started PT and Vestibular therapy.
I was given "trazodone" 50mg for sleep which I have not takem yet.
Nicky,
Thankyou soo very much for sharing your aneurysm and treatment experience. I am truely sorry about the hospital ordeal. I agree with you on hospitals and system. Thankyou for telling me about restrictions. The doctor I saw told me about lifting weights(that too when I asked) more than 30lbs! that is all he mentioned. I can't lift more than 10lbs anyway due to fibro and pain..
I did make a mistake to let Chiropractor to adjust the neck once few months ago but I asked him not to touch again. Chiro adjustments helped me with migranes and spine issues triggered by fall.
I am glad that I found this group. I appreciate you raking time to answer my request.
Hello. I am just seeing ur post today. I feel for you big time. One issue would be enough to deal with and you have moe than one thing on your plate.
I don't know if the accident may have caused your aneurysm, or not. I think the Doppler test is listening to you blood flow in external carotids - the internal carotids r fairly deep into your neck and leading to your brain. I don't think the Doppler could hurt your aneurysms ( in my personal not medical opinion)
I too have aneurysms on my left and right internal carotids.
During an MRI to dx MS, the findings of one 10 mm on the R and a "cluster, like a bunch of grapes 2mm, 3mm, 5mm. This was all 20 years ago and so far no ruptures. I did plan on having the large one clipped. During the pre-op cranial angiogram the doc accidentally nicked the internal carotid. I was in Mass General for 8 days while they thinned my blood and said to wait 6 months and come back to clip R aneurysm and another 6 months later for the L bundle. What?!? R u joking? I lost all confidence in the hospital and the surgeon. They were afraid I would sue them and they really avoided me as much as possible for the hospital .
Now I meant to tell you restrictions on activity, like u asked for. Sorry to perhaps over-share. I asked the surgeon that question. Keep blood pressure
Low,keep heart rate low, don't push heavy objects like the refrigerator ( doc really said that) and don't ever let a chiropractor touch your neck.
After many many months the thought of bursting aneurysms stopped being the first thing I thought of each morning.
As far as do aneurysms ever vanish docs would prob say no but I think
Maybe" a few times I have ultra severe HA ( I have headaches everyday for
45 years) and my recent MRI mentioned the large aneurysm on the R, no word of the ones on left!!! Nicky ( sorry this is so long, just wanted to answer some of ur questions. I will answer more if u want, just ask. Nicky
Dr Mathur,
Thankyou soo very much for your reply and advice.
I was given CBAP machine for sleep apnea but it is not working well. Just want to ask you if head trauma can cause sleep apnea because I never had sleep problems before the accident. The other question is the aneurysm I have, can it be caused by head trauma? So far I am being told that I am suffering from concusion related issues.
Do you recommend any tasks that I should not do or avoid to safe gaurd the aneurysm?
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. There is a lot of controversy regarding the right size for surgery, but in most cases aneurysm less than 10mm in size and which are not causing any symptoms are left alone. This is because they are less likely to rupture than larger aneurysms and complications and risks associated with surgery are comparatively higher. A 2mm aneurysm is unlikely to rupture.
Your symptoms are probably related to sleep issues. You need a better management of that. Also anxiety and stress could be causing problems.
Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!
