Head Pressure

Head pressure.  I sometimes have intense pressure throughout my head, it feels so tight it seems like it could burst.  And lately I have several veins always stuck out very obviously on my forehead to where ppl think there's something wrong and I'm upset even though I might feel fine at that moment.  And I have this squishing sound in my left ear that I know is just my blood beating/heartbeat, but why is it so hard I can feel/hear it in my ear like that, to where it's not even a beat but actual squishy noises ? And I have a really huge explainable knot on the back of my left ear/head a couple years ago, very painful to the touch and so much pressure and pain in my head at the time.. I have major migraines there seems to be no reason for and just an out-of-it fogginess at times to where I feel like I'm about to pass out just sitting there and almost have many times, black out when I stand up, have to fight to stay awake.  Any clue what this could be?

If your symptoms get worse when standing up, it is called orthostatic headache. As far as I know there are mainly Three conditions that leads to that: a spinal csf leak, POTS and a pinched nerve in your neck (cervicogenic headache).  I would suggest that you go to your doctor, get a mri for your brain and neck. If that doesn t show anything then maybe start to investigate the pots or csf-leak hypothesis.

You might also want to go to an Eye doctor, because if you have pressure Changes inside your head it can effect your eyes. Just to be safe.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. It is difficult to diagnose the cause of headaches on net. Sinusitis, refractive errors of the eye, migraine, cluster headaches, brain tumors and aneurysms, high blood pressure, stress, tension headaches, temporal arteritis, pinched cervical spinal nerve, TMJ,  poor or disturbed sleep etc are several causes of headaches. Dental pain and ear ache due to infection or impacted wax can cause similar symptoms. Needless to say, a persisting headache should be investigated.  Please consult your family doctor to start with. You may need to consult a headache and migraine specialist too. Take care!

The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you. The advice may not be completely correct for you as the doctor cannot examine you and does not know your complete medical history. Hence this reply to your post should only be considered as a guiding line and you must consult your doctor at the earliest for your medical problem.

I had a lung collapse about a year ago too and they couldn't find why, but about 2 months before that I'd started having major breathing problems, couldn't get any air in, that went on for about 6 weeks and seemed to have been better for a few weeks then the lung just collapsed sitting in the car.  I've had major head pressure I don't understand for a long time, feels like a clamp's on it, like it's just being squeezed in and it's awful.. but lately, the last 3 months or so I'd say, I struggle hard with feeling like I'm about to lose consciousness all the time, it's very difficult and a struggle/fight really to stay awake, just very scared at this point.
