Limp after spaying.

hi, I have a 7 month old Pit Bull named Cleo. She got spayed about two weeks ago. We have tried our best to prevent excessive movement. She only goes out for bathroom breaks. Soon after the procedure I noticed a slight limp and sometimes she would lift one of her hind paws completely off the ground. What's weird is that she'd run or walk fine and then, just lift it and put her ears back and sit down. This morning has been particularly hard for her to get up and i'm beginning to be concerned. I check the wound from the procedure which seems to be drying. I gently try to feel around the wound and it doesn't seem to create any discomfort. I am taking her to the vet either today or tomorrow, yet, any help or advice would be great. I just want my puppy to be pain free for once.

First off, great job on getting her spayed. This should not be related to the surgery at all, and likely is just a coincidence. Occasionally we will see some muscle stiffness after a procedure however this has lasted long enough and sounds like it is too sore to be muscle stiffness. If I were to ignore the fact that she was spated and just talked about a dog with hind leg lameness, I would focus on the knee joint and specifically the cruciate ligament within the knee. I am sure your vet today can get to the bottom of it.

UPDATE: I took her to the vet the day I posted this question. The vet checked both her legs. Stretched and compressed them (?) and checked he joints and found them to be completely fine. Cleo showed no discomfort what so ever. He then moved on to previous surgeries. He checked the incisions make for the spay where he found a slight discharge. I had seen a small scab and thought of it normal but when he removed it, it began to secrete really small amounts of an oily liquid. He prescribed her antibiotics for two weeks and pain medication. He then explained to me that since she has had leg surgery to fix a broken leg bone, that she probably raises her leg as a reflex in a way to alleviate the pain she may feel, on and off, in her abdomen. If in two weeks there is no improvement or throughout the days she gets worst then we'd do x-rays and maybe even an ultrasound. Regardless I thank you for taking the time to help and clarify things for us pet owners. Your help is much appreciated.
