Tail problems

My leopard gecko has a crispy tail(only on the tip)  and today I noticed some bleeding. I cant take him to the doctor until tuesday since its a long weekend. But I am so worried that he wont make it. I changed his tank with some paper towels and put neosporin on his wound but I need to know what's wrong with him. PLEASE HELP!!

It sounds like a traumatic injury.  A short daily interval in water is OK until the tail heals, so that your gecko will not acquire a secondary fungal pyoderma.  Your gecko may need antibiotics for a primary bacterial infection.  The description of crispiness can be a sign of clostridium infection, and unfortunately can be quite serious.  Please let us know what your vet has found.

Hope you got some good news. The turtle is improving. The skin on the rump and tail has dried out and is peeling off. Looks much better. Hope your little gecko heals just as well.

We have a turtle in right now that had an injury to her tail. It's feeling a bit stiff and crispy as you say. She's on antibiotics and we're limiting her time in water (she's a W. Painted Turtle) to avoid continuing infection. We're waiting to see if part of the tail is going to slough off.

Perhaps your gecko got a small injury to the tail tip. Do keep it clean. A check with the vet would be a good idea in case there is injury to the bone.
