My 2 and 1/2 year old Staf terrier died last week. She was spayed, up to date on all shots, and had never had any health problems. She was 100% normal on Sunday, then somewhat lethargic on Monday. She started having VERY bloody urination on Monday night. We saw the vet on Tuesday morning and he thought it may be a bladder infection and put her on some antibiotics. She refused to eat or drink anything, layed on the couch all day, unmoving, and by Tuesday night could barely walk. I got her to dring some water with a turkey baster, but she threw it up within 5 minutes or so. There was no blood in the vomit. We called the vet on Wednesday night and he said that her bloodwork showed no signs of kidney or liver problems. We knew she was dying at that point. We woke up Thursday morning to find her very yellow- eyes, skin, etc. We took her to a different vet to see if there was any hope. She said that putting her down would be the best way to go at that point. The first vet had metioned poisoning, but we are with her all the time, and I've turned my house upside-down, and come up with nothing. I also have 3 cats and another dog, who are all healthy. I'm at a loss and would like to know if I'm missing something. Is there something laying around that could kill my other pets? Is this my fault? Anything advice would help me sleep at night and stop racking my brain. Thanks- Melissa
