dog throwing up blood

I have a 7-year old basset hound.  She is 43 lbs and is in good health.  This morning she was playing with other dogs but around 10am she threw up a good bit.  No big deal.  She went to sleep and I went out for a few hours.  She did not throw up at all when I was gone and was just sleeping on the couch.  About 30 minutes after I got back she threw up two smaller amount, but the bile was reddish with blood.

I took her outside and she did her business, but nothing our of the ordinary there.  Her stool was firm and no blood in that.  She urinated without any problem.  The only odd thing is that usually when she's sick she pulls hard on the leash toward the high grasses and all she wants to do is eat grass.  The odd thing is that she showed no desire to eat grass this time.

She came back in the house and went to bed.  She's sleeping now.  Thoughts?

If she is bright and alert it is a good sign and she could have a gastritis from something she ate. Sometimes the act of vomiting can cause bleeding in the stomach and subsequent vomiting will have blood in it.It is ok to give her zantac 75 and feed small meals but if she vomits again or act depressed she should be seen right away.
