my shih tzu has pancreatitis

I have questions, my vet just diagnosed my shih tzu with pancreatitis. She ate some pork a couple of days ago and them started vomiting the yellow frothy stuff. They had to give her steroids to stop the vomiting, does this mean she will always have the pancreatitis? Or is this a one time thing? I know not to let her eat anything but her dog food diet but I am still worried... Any thoughts?

Pancreatitis does go away once your dog is treated successfully for it.  But your dog could still get it again if she again eats inappropriately.  Make sure she stays away from fatty meals forever.  It would be a good idea to boost her immune system and her digestive system with the use of colostrum and probiotic supplements.
