My 2 1/2 yr old miniature dachshund is having trouble jumping up on to things. She hesitates to even jump up the steps. This started yesterday. What do you suggest we do about it?

Steroids, and acupuncture are very effective. If very serious or if you wait too long, surgery may be necessary.

Think Disc Disease. See your veterinarian soon and have some x-rays of her spine and a complete neuro exam. You might be able to treat this conservatively if you catch it early!
