Most people who have an eating disorder don't believe that they actually have one. Not eating and throwing up sounds like the purging type of anorexia nervosa. Only 69 pounds, as ur friend said, would definitely characterize u in that area.

Okay, you seem nice. But I don't know wat my friend is talking about. I don't think I have an eating disorder. Just because i like never eat and sometimes make myselve throw up doesn't mean anything. Does it? Well, see ya

Kerri, have u thought anything about what was said in this discussion? Joining the teen depression forum is a good first step :) You can always talk to me if you need to, I know when I went through that phase I would've talked to anybody that listened.

KERRI!!!!!

I hope you know that I am talking about you when I told them about a friend that has an eating disorder!!! And I think you do know! So, please don't play stupid, and talk to he people on this forum. As for pink2385, you just talked to her. Kerryberry17 is the girl i am talking about. She has joined the teen depression forum. I told her about the forum, and I told her that I was going to come to this forum to talk to it about her, and i guess her trying to cover it up didn't work.

This website has a phone number for the NEDA, try calling them, and telling them about your friend.

Well with severe depression like that, is she talking to any sort of counselor right now? I know it might sound scary, but you might want to look into getting emergency medical help for her. I once had the police come to my house because a friend called that was scared i was going to commit suicide. That phone call saved my life, at least for the time being. She may be mad at for a while, but it might be the best thing for her.

Hi.  Would your friend consider joining this forum?  Many of us here have suffered from anorexia, severe depression, suicidal attempts and cutting; it's all a part of self hatred.  Perhaps if she joined the forum, someone may help her.  Ya think she would?

I have tried to get her help, but she says that hopefully it will soon kill her. Could she have an eating disorder? Or is she trying to starve herself to death. She also suffers from sever depression, she has tried suicide, and she cuts and burns herself.

Talk to someone and get her help. You could talk to her parents, or an adult from her school. Only 69 pounds isn't enough.

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Dear anonymous666,

You have much to be concerned!  Have you spoken directly to her or her parents?  If she is unwilling to get help, her parents have only until age 18 to make her get help.  She needs medical and psychiatric help.  She is in critical condition.  Anorexia is the highest death rate of all Mental Illnesses and for those between the ages of 15-24 Anorexia is 12X highest death rate for all other causes of death.  If she passes out in your presence, call 911.  If her parents are unwilling to get her help, call child protective services on them.  You can call anonymously.
