I am a 45 year old female and suffer from anxiety and depression. I agree with finding a way to take your mind off things....I know from experience that's easier said than done. I am on Celexa and Xanax as needed. I also tried Buspar in the past but couldn't tolerate it, felt like my head was a ballon that was about to float off my body :). However, meds are going to affect each of us differently. Sometimes it takes time to figure out what's going to work best for you....hang in there....you are not alone....we are all here for each other. It can be frightening when it seems no one around you understands. That can feel very isolating, at  least in my experience. If you are interested in any non-medical alternatives let me know and I can tell you what I've tried and have found helpful. I am a RN and have done extensive research in this area to help myself and others suffering.

I have generalized anxiety and im a hypochondriac and i feel your pain. Best thing to do i found for me is to just watch youtube videos or take a drive no matter the time just to get my mind at ease. And DO NOT be afraid of your medication. I use to take buspar and it helped soooo much. It may feel weird the first time but just know it wont hurt you in any way it will only help

thanks for commenting iam just about to take a xanax to try and sleep
But don't take Xanax except as needed, as it's an addictive drug.  Also not a good idea to rely on it for sleep on a regular basis.  But used only when necessary, it might tide you over until the Zoloft either kicks in or doesn't work and you find an antidepressant that does work.  In the meantime, I hope you're at least giving therapy a try.  And Xanax probably won't make you feel weird -- the Zoloft is much more likely to do that!
Until you get used to it, that is.
this morning feeling terrible worry and sick feeling
If this keeps up, it might be Zoloft isn't the drug for you.
had a great day yesterday now this morning anxious. slept last night .
is it common to have a good day then the next morning wake up anxious wondering if the next day will be good as well
There is no commonality for anxiety sufferers, except if the long term med kicks in (which I am guessing it hasn't had time to do yet at the upped dose) it can make every day good, because even when you get a fright it is muted and you confidently think this powerful med will overcome the anxiety and it does.
The confidence gained from riding out a frightful feeling with just a minor tremor is infectious if you are able to resolve (to some degree anyway) what is causing the anxiety. Are you taking therapy to try to find coping mechanisms that can work? Is there any disease that your family is predisposed to that triggers your hypochondria?
btw I think reading is better than videos to go back to sleep because bright lights bring out the wake-up instinct that cave men relied on for survival, and reading for me tires my eyes so that and focusing on the story relaxes my mind. If you have Insomnia then that is a whole different ball game. Has that been a LT problem too?
yeah i never sleep real well. just talked to dr and he put me on klonopin along with the zoloft. today was a panicky day as well.
thanks for listening
