You may indeed need a medication, simply because your symptoms are pretty severe.  That's something you're going to have to discuss with the therapist, see what he/she thinks.

Keep in mind that medicating teens and young adults is tricky business, there are a lot of special considerations, so IF you decide that it's something you think you want to try, please ask for a referral to a CHILD/ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRIST.  Not a pediatrician or your family doc, and not a regular psychiatrist. That's very important, okay?

I'm anxious to hear how the appointment goes.  Stay away from Dr. Google!  :0)

OH!  And MOST importantly, do NOT search the internet and read about various illnesses/diseases.  That's going to fuel your anxiety something terrible!

It all seems perfectly typical of severe anxiety/panic, and like I said before, you're overly focused on the sensations and how you're feeling, which is feeding into those symptoms big time.

I'm really glad you're seeing the therapist today, hopefully he/she can reassure you that what you're going through is par for the course for anxiety.  It would be highly unlikely that you needed to be put in an inpatient facility.  That's your mind "what iffing", focusing on the fear of going crazy.  I assure you you're not crazy.

Please make sure you write down any questions or concerns you have for the therapist ahead of time, so you don't forget anything.  I think it would be a GREAT idea for you to print off a few of your threads here, as you describe very well what's been going on.  Let her read those.

Hang in there sweetie, and let us know how the appointment goes!

The feelings of things not being real and or feeling detached is very common when you have anxiety.
I'm really glad to hear you will be seeing a therapist tomorrow. Please let us know how your visit goes.
