3 months on Clonopin

Hi I was put on clonopin 3 months ago along with Celexa for post surgical anxiety, it was horrible. I have never had anxiety before, I went to see a psychiatrist and he said 40 percent of people can have this after a major surgery. I feel like the Celexa has really helped a lot and now am tapering down from Clonopin. I was on 1.5mg a day and have been at 1mg for 4 days how do you suggest I taper. I have been reading some really scary stuff on the internet about clonopin withdrawal....how long does the acute withdrawal last with every reduction. Will it sneak up on me in a month? Any info would be really appreciated, this is my first time ever taking this drug

That's what your psychiatrist is for -- to set your taper.  If you think he's unresponsive to your concerns or moving too quickly, find a different psychiatrist, but that's your guide as your speed of taper won't be the same as it would be for someone else -- it all depends on how you feel.

I think the slower you take the tapering the better. Good luck. Glad the celexa is working for you and you arent having to try diff meds.
