Since you can apparently drive long distances to go on nature hikes, you're assessment of not having "classic" agoraphobia is extremely apt. It's also further debunked if you can go into stores.........very big and crowded stores, and your "raw nerves get worse and you start to come apart, but NO PANIC." (caps are mine) You haven't shopped for four years but if the need arises, you can leave your house and drive to Home Depot. I've never met a part-time agoraphobic before...........and please know that I am NOT making fun of you in any way, shape or form.
If you can drive long distances for your nature hikes and go to Home Depot, you should have no difficulty driving a mere 10 miles to sit in an uncrowded, peaceful office to work with this nationally famous person who specializes in your issues. I may have missed something, but considering what you CAN do, I just don't see why you couldn't do this? I don't have agoraphobia, so it's highly likely I'm just not getting your issue.
She IS right, though. The longer you stay inside, the harder it's going to be to come out.
We both know our state is THE most beautiful, don't give up seeing all it's wonders.
