Anxiety Help

I had my first panic attack about two weeks ago, since then I have constanly been on edge and fearing that something is wrong with me and that I am going to die. I have been to my primary MD and she put me on zoloft 25mg up to 50mg after one week. I have had every test done and nothing physically is wrong with me. It's all mental. I also have  PRN Klonopin 1 mg . I  have just started my 50mg increase. Although I have not had any panic attacks recently I still feel on edge and that I will break down at any moment. I have taken the Klonopin twice and it makes me feel weird, dispalced, and drowsy. I am a widowed mother of 4 children ages, 2,3,7, and 8 and I need to maintain some form of sanity to care for my children. I was very hesitant about taking medication and am hoping to have some success with Zoloft. I know that everyones body responds differently to medications but any positive feedback re: Zoloft usage and getting back to some form of normalcy would be greatly appreciated as I am very discouraged and thinking that I will be this way forever. Thank you everyone.

I have been taking zoloft for about 3 months and the medication takes about a month to kick in after that it really helped me I was feeling very well even tok away my depression. Since then I've unfortunately have had another setback because I suffer from health anxiety. But I would have been a wreck before and now I still feel anxious but it hasn't hit me as hard and I think it's because of the zoloft.. Medicine however is not a cure you mentioned that you were a widow so maybe you should see a psychologist to help you because I can't even imagine what you are going through specially with 4 kids! God bless and I hope you feel better. Just be patient I know it feels horrible but you will feel better, it's just a matter of time.

You poor thing. I am so sorry to hear about your husband. If you ever wanna chat or get stuff of your mind, please do. Sometimes talking to a stranger is helpful. I found that to be one of the best parts of MedHelp.

Take Care

I agree, every body reacts different to meds. I am currently suffering from bad anxiety, panic attacks and ptsd from a bad car accident. I'm on Clonazepam (Klonopin) and it works great for me. Started with .5 , now I take up to 2.5mg a day. I'd like to add, I hate that have to take meds right now, but I wouldn't be able to get through the day w/ out it. I have two young kids at home w/ me and I know how you feel, the meds do make me feel a little out of touch. I was thinking about Zoloft, all I know about it that my mother has had great success w/ Zoloft. She suffered her whole life like me(minus the car accident)

Good Luck and let us know how the Zoloft works.
