Nobody likes to talk about HIV/AIDS, but sticking ones head in the sand certainly is NOT the answer. Talking openly about it, educating people about safe sex.........that is the only way we are going to end this epidemic. I don't know about your part of the world, but over here we have a saying that goes................"if you're not part of the solution, then you're part of the problem!"
Perhaps YOU could study about HIV/AIDS and teach a class!
Why not? Somebody has to stand up and lead the way.
As to what the lab tech told you about the virus not being able to survive longer than two seconds is pretty much the truth. What we teach people here is that the virus dies almost instantly when it comes in contact with air or saliva. Trust that tech! Find out where that person learned about HIV.
You do not have HIV.
The end

Thankyou very much greenlydia your advice was an eye opener for me. In india people still don't like to talk about HIV/AIDS because they think it is a sin. I per your advice i will try to attend awarness program on HIV/AIDS
I have one more query the Lab technician who tested my blood said that HIV cannot sustain more than 2sec in water or surface. is that true ?
You had NO RISK!
You don't even know what may have caused the cut, which did NOT bleed, and you're letting your anxiety control your life.
Even IF you had cut yourself with a razor blade or gotten a needle stick, those objects had obviously been there for some time before you arrived. HIV could NOT survive in those situations. HIV must be passed WITHIN the body.
Test if it will make you feel better, but you had no exposure and therefore have no need to test.
Here are the three ways that HIV is contracted..........if you do not fit into any of these categories, once again, you had NO RISK.
1) UNPROTECTED sex with an HIV+ partner
2) Sharing drug works with a known HIV+ person
3) HIV+ mother to her unborn child
Getting yourself educated about HIV is the best way to protect yourself and those you love. And don't rely on the Net for that information. There must be an HIV/AIDs awarness program somewhere near you. I strongly urge you to attend and take as many friends with you as you can. Knowledge really IS power!
