Anxiety and medications

Hello, I've posted questions concerning my anxiety before, but haven't posted in a couple of weeks because I was feeling somewhat better.  I started taking zoloft and atarax two weeks ago to help control my anxiety while I go through therapy.  The meds were prescribed to me by my primary doctor and I have started seeing a psychologist to try and solve this anxiety issue.  My questions are concerning the zoloft.  My primary doc started me off at 25mg daily of zoloft and 25mg of atarax 4 times a day as needed.  When I first started taking the zoloft I must admit that I started to feel better, felt more like myself.  I had my first meeting with my psychologist and he said that 25mg was good starting point for anxiety.  That was fine with me because the meds were working and I was feelig confident and good about things.  Unfortunately about 3-4 days ago I started to feel anxious again and was worrying about the same things I did before.  I had an appointment with my primary doctor yesterday that was previously scheduled because    they wanted to give me my thyroid and glucose results and see how Inwas doing on the zoloft.  Thankfully everything checked out OK with thyroid and glucose.  I also metioned that my anxiety has returned a bit and that it was low level and that I was not as manic as before I went on the zoloft.  He gave me the option of increasing my dosage to 50mg daily but I was really sure what to do.  In the end we decided to stay at 25mg of zoloft and keep using the atarax as needed.  I've noticed though that I'm now taking the atarax all 4 times and still feeling the anxiety.  This has lead me to second guess my decision about leaving the zoloft at 25mg.  My doc also said that would be the time that people usually increase their dose and that he started me on a low dose to see how I did on it.  Has anyone experienced anything like this?  Should I have increased my dose?  I'm going to ask my psychologist what he thinks but I won't see him till Tuesday since we are working on a bi-weekly schedule.  My doctor also said he wanted me to start taking Vitamin D (3) saying that it has a lot of benefits concerning physical and mental health. I heard of taking Vitamin B for anxiety but not Vitamin D (3), has anyone ever heard of or used this vitamin?  I'm hoping to get this sorted out because I was feeling better and it seems that like before I am regressing and I don't understand why. Thank you for your help.

Thanks for your input and I do plan on talking to both my docs.  I also forgot to ask if this could possibly be some remnants of Ativan withdrawal.  I stopped taking Ativan on Feb 23 and took 1.5 mg daily for approximately one month.  Could the increased anxiety be withdrawal? I've also noticed that I've been seeming to have slight hot flashes at times.  This was a symptom I never really experienced until I stopped the Ativan, but it only happened once at night.  I Also started the zoloft at the same time so I can't be sure if it is the Ativan or not.

I do think that you should talk with both doctors to make sure that they both understand what is going on with you!
I was on effexor 75mg and ativan .05 mg but then I started obsessing about other things and my therapist and I decided to try wellbutrin 100 mg with clonazopam .05 mg instead to see if that would work! Right now I am wishing that I had never switched because I felt great on effexor and went through hell with withdrawal and now I am miserable on this new drug! I should have just increased what was working as long as both docs agree that it is best for you!
You know your own body more than anyone, and I am still hopeful that the docs are thinking in our best interests!
Mention it and see what they say! If what you were on worked then stick with that, even if you have to increase it! I say right now that being happy will make life so much more plesant!
Good luck!
