Anxiety can come with alot of strange symptoms. You're only having this on one side though. Yes, it could be because of GERD.Are you taking anything to help with that? I'm also wondering about pinched nerves in your neck and back. It might be worth it to see a chiropractor. I was having this pain in my cheek for a long time. I saw my GP, my dentist, an ENT specialist and none of them could find the cause. I saw my chiropractor and sure enough, I had pinched nerves in my neck that were causing the strange pain in my cheek. After one adjustment it was gone.

You keep repeating the same thing.  Anything is possible, but that's why you need a doctor to verify for you that you don't have any medical conditions causing your symptoms.  At some point, you have to have some faith in the doctors and any medical testing they order.

If you haven't yet already heard of it...your symptoms may be explained away by a fairly common anxiety symptom called globus hystericus.  Read about it here:

http://www.*************.com/anxiety/c/157571/140658/hystericus-lump

I would STRONLGY recommend steering CLEAR of google and other internet search engines.  It's the worst possible thing a person with health related anxiety could do because there is SO much info out there, and it's all presented in a generalized fashion, not presented taking into consideration each individual person's situation (like your doctor would do).  I can do an internet search at any given time of a group of symptoms, and every time, the results will yield results of frightening, fatal illnesses.  Of course, most of the symptoms could also be explained away with MANY other far more likely scenarios, but a person with anxiety will become focused on the scary stuff.  Don't do it.

If you're going to search the internet, look for anxiety resources, because even though you may be experiencing symptoms that COULD be medical in nature, you're most definitely experiencing high levels of anxiety.  That needs addressed.

Good luck to you.

Do have your Dr check your ears, nose and throat. It really could be the reason why you're having funny feelings in your throat, sinus drainage. I'm not sure where you live but where I live everyone is having allergy problems, including me.
I'm glad to hear you got a massage. My daughter tries to go at least once a month and it really helps her anxiety.

I see you've been on google. Yes, I guess it could be a vagus nerve. The only place you could have this checked on the weekend is either at the hospital or a med center.
Are you having any other symptoms like having to blow your nose? I'm wondering if this might be allergies? If they drain it can cause those weird sensations in your throat.

Yes, anxiety can cause all sorts of symptoms. Stomach problems are high on the list and so are muscles aches. If we think about these symptoms they can feel worse because we do have anxiety.
Hopefully the endoscopy will give you some answers as to what's going on with your stomach. If it is GERD that can cause the weird feelings in your throat.

I've been 'experimenting' today with trying not to constantly 'check' my throat by dry swallowing - figuring maybe its inflamed from that and also all the rubbing, pulling and pushing and feeling for lumps.I realized that i walk about almost all the time carrying tension. its like i rush to do every little thing with my body tense. I'm making a conscious effort to relax hwne i move and go about daily tasks. I think i need to make an action plan to do that every day, and do some relaxation and meditation exercises, and most of all give myself a mental 'slap on the wrist' when i start dwelling on symptoms.

To be honest you mentioned you are a hypochondriac, so you could be once bitten twice shy.  Meaning your anxiety could be exacerbating your condition?  Also GERD, can cause stomach, neck, throat, and chest pain.  I found mine because when I sleep under 5 hrs I get chest pain from it.  Also anxiety can cause you to grind or clinch you jaw at night.  If you wake up feeling like your teeth and jaw hurt, then you could be clinching your jaw.  I did it for years after my time in Iraq, no dreams just sore jaw.
GERD, which I have too, can be true GERD of a hiatal Hernia, which is usually a genetic condition that runs in families.  My grandfather had it, and I do, so I have GERD like issues, but from a Hiatal Hernia, which can cause all types of issues.  Prilosec should only be used for less than 6 months and can interfere with time release medications.  It did this to me and I switched to Sucralfate, a old and great medication.
In short yes, GERD, even if treated can cause issues, and taking more of it does not work.  The theory was that GERD causes increased stomach acid, and there fore you should knock it down.  The problem is long term, use of Omeprazole (prilosec) causes your body to ramp up stomach acid.  A never ending cycle.  From personal experience, my hiatal hernia and GERD due to it, caused me to have anxiety like issues.  Meaning at night I would lie down, my acid would slide up into areas it was not meant to be in, (even on Omeprazole twice daily 100mg total)  This lead to a hot flushed feeling and a hard time sleeping which made me think about all types of stuff that made me mad and anxious etc.  Domino effect.
overall anxiety and stress among other factors can cause GERD and a whole sort of issues.  Google PTSD, and the PSTD national center for Vets.  This site, will give you info about stress anxiety and how to relieve it.  Its a life long fight, and drugs are just a stop gap, meaning no matter what with drugs you either have to increase them or change them, (for mental issues that is)  Again this is most cases not all.  but if you get on drugs for anxiety remember they are to create a break to allow you to sleep, and get mental help.  If you just rely on them and nothing else you will be right back where you are.  So maybe you need to see a mental health professional as well, if doesn't have to be a Dr, it could be a councilor.  It worked for me, but I still have to do the exercises Ive learned over the last 8 years to keep me calm.
Remember I am not a Dr, but am a medical professional and due to this follow your Drs advice over mine.
Good luck

Yeah I'll look into seeing one but can anxiety be the root of all this and the meds seem too work I have no heartburn just belching I'm in shape I guess I'll wait too see my endoscopy results if they come back fine then it's probably a anxiety symptoms or a pinched nerve but I notice when I think about it it gets worse I'm currently going to therapy also

Are you getting any relief at all from the stomach meds? You may need something stronger. Your Dr will let you know after the endoscopy.
Yes, pinched nerves in your neck can cause throat discomfort. I really did'nt know what to think when I was having the cheek pain. It was only on one side. I thought i may have a salivary stone or something. Like I said though, my GP,ENT or dentist could find nothing wrong. My chiropractor fixed it. So, it really is worth it to see one. When I see mine I usually make my appointments for the evening because I'm so relaxed and tired I want to sleep afterwards. It's great for anxiety.

You were'nt on Wellbutrin for long at all so I don't think you're having withdrawal. If you are, it would be very mild.
Have you tried putting heat on your neck to see if that helps. You're right, it could be either a pulled muscle or tight muscles from stress.

I'm still having a hard time believing your Dr put you on this med when you do not have depression, but anxiety. What was your Dr thinking?!! It really can make anxiety worse.
Were you on Wellbutrin for a total of two weeks, or was it longer? I'm asking because the longer you're on a med the longer it can take to get over withdrawals if you don't taper. If was 4 weeks the withdrawal, if that's what you're going through, should go away soon.

I really don't understand why your Dr even put you on Wellbutrin because like I said, it can be stimulating and is used more for depression.
How long have you been completely off of it? It can take a while to get out of your system. So you may either be going through a little bit of withdrawal or it's still in your system.

It's not uncommon for we anxiety sufferers to have pain in our muscles. Especially the back and neck areas. Have you talked to your Dr about this yet?
Can I ask if you also have depression? The reason I'm asking is because Wellbutrin is usually prescribed for depression. It can be one of the more stimulating meds and can make anxiety worse in some people.
