You said that a few YEARS ago you had feelings of dizziness, or being "off balance." Are these feelings still happening? Often if we have an inner ear problem or sinus infection, bending our heads over can cause dizziness. You said you saw a doctor a few months ago for fluid in your ears. Did you discuss your feelings of dizziness with them at that time?
Are you taking anything for your anxiety/OCD? Many medications can have dizziness as a side effect and this might be something to discuss with your therapist. Perhaps a change in medications MIGHT be called for. Please remember that none of us are doctors on this forum, so that is simply my opinion.
You ask if feeling dizzy/off balance can be symptoms of anxiety...........anxiety can manifest itself in many ways, such as rapid heart rate and shaky hands. For you it could also present as dizziness or feeling off balance. We are all different in our response to anxiety/panic.
You feel better when you're around people because you aren't focused on yourself, but when you're alone, all that attention is turned inwards. This happens to many of us with anxiety issues, you're not alone in this. Staying busy does help, but one can't stay busy 24/7........so it's very good that you're seeing a therapist. I will assume you are discussing these issues with them.
The first and most important thing you MUST do is stay off those Web sites that list symptoms of illnesses and diseases! They will do nothing except feed your hypochondria and scare the daylights out of you, as you said yourself. Any of us could go to one of those sites and come away with a boat load of disorders! People like us who have health anxiety should NEVER go to those sites! The best thing we can do for ourselves is see our doctors and I would recommend that you see yours!
It is my belief that you ARE creating many of these symptoms yourself, but as I said, I am NOT a doctor and you need to see yours to rule out any REAL physical problems. Our minds are incredibly powerful and they can make us believe some really incredible nonesense. For those of us with anxiety, we must learn to regain control of our thoughts, and in doing that, we regain control of our lives.
Work hard in therapy and know you're not alone.
Peace
