Anxious during day, calm during night?

K2S
Hello!
I have social phobia and I am very anxious during the last one year. I am on Deanxit (I don't know whether it is used in USA, it is combination of Flupentixon and Melitracen). Sometimes I get panic attacks. But I notice that I feel better during night. When it is sunny and warmer and there are people outside, I simply cannot leave my home without anxiety - higher heart rate, chest pain, stomachache. But when it is night and I am aware that the night hides me from people's eyes, I am much calmer. Is this a feature of anxiety? Anyone that experiences the same thing? I guess I am a nocturnal creature... However, it is very disturbing, I cannot function so well during daytime. Maybe I should find a night job. :(

Thanks for your reply!
Yes, my doctor told me that what I have is not very serious condition and exercising such as going out, walking and this light med should help me. I really do it, my fear is mostly when I am surrounded by people. It was easier when it was winter - no people during the cold time, no noises, calm streets - I was walking during the day. But now, when it is sunny, more noisy and full of people, I have problems going out.

When I sufffered my first panic attack three years ago, I was also afraid of going out in public for fear of losing control.  When you fear leaving your house (I believe it is referred as agoraphobia), it can definately be a symptom of anxieity.  Have you talked to a therapist (psychologist, psychiatrist) about your fears.  I had great success with a combination of meds and therapy.  By discussing with with a professional, it helps you to understand the panic and anxiety cycle.
