I have started to feel like my throat has a lump in it or it is "Closing" And i am not sure what it is i could possibly be anxious even though i dont think i am. Water seems to be the only thing that helps with it. I also feel like i'm going to vomit even though i never do. I'm going to a ENT doctor in december maybe they can see what may be going on and see it it could be throat cancer or i'm just anxious then i wont worry so much and make it worse.

I suffer with this too when I am having a panic attack.  I know that you said your scared to swallow your own saliva but trust me during an attack you can.  When I have this happen what really helps me to get rid of that feeling is to sip ice cold water.  It feels so good and as long as I am swallowing liquid I know that it's just a feeling and not actually happening.  I also suck on menthol cough drops.  The sensation that the menthol gives me seems like it helps to "open" up not only my throat but my whole airway.

Hope this helps!  :)

I experienced the same thing.  It got to the point where I was losing weight and could barely swallow at all.  My doctor said it was a condition called "globus".  It could be associated with thyroid or tumours, but if it only happens when you are having a panic attack then it's quite possible thats all it is.  My doctor put me on Ativan which helped.  But if it only lasts for short periods of time I would suggest drinking something warm and try to relax.  Realize that it won't last forever and it's nothing to worry about. The more we focus on a symptom the worse it feels.
Hope that was of some help to you.
Take care

I get this too, sometimes as part of my "wonderful" panic attacks. But I notice the sensation is worse after drinking soy milk. It may be something to do with the viscosity of chemistry of that liquid that causes it (at least for me).

you must try to understand that it's not going to harm or kill you no matter how bad the sensations are..i know it's horrible but as long as you're breathing, you're going to be just fine believe me..
