Bad anxiety

I am having bad anxiety and have lorezepam 2mg or zanax 1 mg. It is going into anxity attacks and panic attacks I also have bipolar, adhd and Ptsd. On CARBEMAZAPINE for bipolar and dextroamphtemine for adhd I need to stop the anxiety as fast as possible but don't want a lot of side affects and I do want the calm to par a while. Please advise me can't get ahold of psychiatrist til Monday.

Are the meds (Xanax and Ativan) prescribed to you, and if so, how are they ordered?  

Hopefully you were able to get through those rough moments, did you talk to your p-doc today?

I'm sorry to learn you're having a bad weekend.

I currently take Lorezepam (Ativan) as needed, and have taken Xanax in the past. They are very similar and do pretty much the same thing. Neither one has any significant side effects. This is from a guy who is nervous about taking pills due to potential side effects, so it carries a lot of weight! Ativan is a wonderful medication for calming me down when I am anxious or panicky. My only caution is that 2mg might be a bit much. I have 1mg pills and sometimes only take half if I only want to take the edge off. So if you have 2mg pills, you might consider taking half. It should last a few hours. Best wishes!
