Can you recommend a slow taper schedule for 0.5mg clonazepam taken for 4 months

My psychiatrist would like me to taper off over 2 weeks but I think that is too fast

Well, this is interesting.  A minute ago this discussion was closed as inappropriate for the forum.  I wrote a message to MedHelp, but no way it could have been read already.  Anyway, what I said was that this is one of the most-discussed issues on this forum over the years I've been on it.  I agree with the poster, 2 weeks is too fast.  6 weeks is about the shortest recommended taper I've seen for any of the meds we take for this stuff.  While you've only been on a low dose and for a relatively short amount of time, and so will probably not have a big problem stopping, you might, and so there is no reason to rush.  Being safe is best, and the safe way to do this is to taper off as slowly as you need to, as we all react differently.  It's always better to be safe, and this med is one of the more difficult ones to stop taking.  Your instincts sound spot on to me and I would follow them.  If you believe your psychiatrist isn't good at this sort of thing, and many of them are terrible at it, find a different one.  I hope it works out well for you.  Peace.
