Why is everything wrong???

Hi Everyone,

I'm a 22 year old male suffering with anxiety the past few years. in the past few weeks I've been getting chest pains which immediately send me into a panic. The pain also radiates to my back and I sometimes get pains in my left arm.

I also suffer with heartburn and am on medication for GERD. I try to reassure myself that the pain is from indigestion  but i cant help feel like its something worse. I've got an ECG done and it came back OK. Does that mean if an ECG was ok, then my heart is A-OK or does an ECG only cover so much and there could still be something wrong? in the past 2 days I've been starting to feel lightheaded along with pains in my chest. I'm really starting to worry.

To add to my ball of depression,  I have what seems to be a blockage in my vein under my foreskin. The veins from my stomach to the top of my penis, around and under the foreskin are also enlarged and considerably more noticeable when erect. There is no pain and it is soft to touch. I'm now worried i may get a bloodclot,I'm bleeding and that's what's causing the lightheadedness. So many worries. It would be amazing if someone could address some/all off these worries and reassure me/ inform me on what to do next :)

It could be a little cluster of veins causing the "bubble".

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Somewhat relieving to speak to someone about it. I was at the docs today and got the whole "ah, your young, its anxiety and you will be grand" attitude. She set me up for CBT counselling. i asked for meds such as xanax and whatnot but she doesn't want to go down that route and understandably so. Anyway, as for the whole penis thingy, i will just monitor it. No pain may be a good thing. just looks as so its blocked under the foreskin and there's a little bubble there. I would imagine if there was no blood getting through, there would be some form of pain. Anyhu, Thanks very much :)

If your ECG was fine then your heart IS fine. Anxiety csn cause chest pains and u have GERD..  so it sounds as though your pains are caused by this. And then cause u start to panic over them... they get worse! Its a vicious cycle. Its easier said than done. But u just have to try and calm down :) find something to distract yourself when u get this way. I find a sitcom marathon helps me lol
The lightheadedness  will be most likely anxiety too adrenaline will kick in when you find something that worries you and everything in your body kicks off like that
As for your veins in your penis. I dont personally have a penis. But I have seen them and the veins enlarging when erect is perfectly normal as the blood flow increases when you get erect.

It doesnt sound like you have a blocked vein in it at all  and your heart is fine you have had the tests. Its normal for people who suffer with anxiety to not believe the results we receive from tests but thats just cause anxiety is a b**** and tricks your mind!

If you find you cant manage your anxiety maybe you should make an appointment with your doctor for either some anti anxiety meds or a referral to get some therapy?
