Complete Loss of Appetite

I have been experiening a loss of appetite for about 4 days now. It's like my desire to eat has simply disappeared and I could go all day without food. I have been worried sick that something is wrong, but I also know that this may be my axienty flaring up.

Has anyone experienced something like this befoe? Of course, searching the internet for help only seems to make it worse and I worry that I have some sort of cancer.

I do have to say that my body still seems to be hungry and my stomach growls, but its like the connection to my brain that says "You are hungry" is malfunctioning.

Actually, it is depression that usually slows down the digestion and is more apt to take away the appetite.  Depression could be lurking around inside the anxiety.  One way or another,  make sure you keep eating nutritious food.  No junk food right now and drink plenty of water.  I did not follow this advice and wound up in the hospital seriously ill. If you do not know relaxation tequniques, look it up on the Internet, buy a book, or consult with a doctor or counselor. Practice relaxation daily.  If your appetite does not come back in about a week to ten days go see dour doctor. Please take care of yourself.  WendyJones

Yeah, that will happen. It is something with me that has basically always been there, and as a result, I have gone days without eating because no one mentioned it. I do much the same with sleeping..stayed up three days because I just didnt even consider it, until someone asked if i was tired. The answer became "...Yes, apparently!"

Try not to worry yourself too much over it. Ive found it to generally be temporary, and like most anxiety, it will vanish like you didnt ever have it soon. So long as you're actually eating, there shouldnt be any major problem. if this lasts too long, or becomes too severe, a doctor may be in order.

For now though, just relax. Anxiety slows your digestive process down quite a lot, due to it not being encessary for immediate survival. Worrying will only make it worse.

Its not cancer, and no cancer has that symptom...Although chemotherapy might, I think its safe to assume you are not having chemotherapy, heh :P
