Same thing happens to me. I think that when we wake up from a night of mind resting, that we wake up and our mind starts thinking anxious thoughts. One way they managed mine was prescribing an antidepressant, which most help with anxiety disorders and need to be taken every day. I was also given Klonopin. When I take it at night and then in the morning, it helps to make this go away. Hope it helps. Remember Fear is just a lie...God Bless!
Thanks. Eventhough it effects my libido, I still give it the old college try! lol
Cymbalta is the name of the other one I could not think of.
Edgeboy, have you thought about another med that will not effect your libido? There's Wellbutrin and another one that I can not think of the name right now but, will get back to you with it. I've also heard people say that Lexapro does not have this side effect and works well for anxiety. Wellbutrin is a more stimulating med than Paxil. Something for you to think about.
It's called G.A.D. Or, generalized anxiety disorder. Xanax is short acting. Meaning it stays in your system for about 8 hours and helps the anxiety for about 4 to 6 hours hours. You may want to talk to your Dr about a longer acting anti anxiety med. There are several to think about. Many people do well on Klonopin. It is in the benzo family like Xanax but, it's much longer acting.
I took paxil only twice and it was only 5mg and it made me feel like a zombie. I know you need to give it more time but i just couldnt handle it they know gave me prozac.
Anxiety is always worse in the morning. Don't know why but everyone all agrees that mornings are the worse. It might be because you are aware that you have another day to face anxiety.
With me its like, i am calm from a good nights sleep when i realize anxiety is waiting for me. My anxiety usually comes in episodes of maybe a month or so. It then goes away as mysteriously as it came.
The SSRI i take is Paxil. it helps in putting down the panic attacks. The only side effect that I dont like is it dulls my libido.
