Lexapro did help me with anxiety. The first week I was tired but you may not have that. Your on 10 mgs which is the usual starting dose. Give this med a try and IF you do have any side effects like tiredness ask your Dr about cutting it back to 5 mgs for awhile. Hopefully within a week or so you'll see some improvement in your anxiety. We're here for you. Remar

like everyone has said, everyone reacts differently to different meds. But I use to take lexepro and it worked very well. I am now taking it again at a low dose (since I am really sensitive to meds). It works well. Good luck with it. Remember  though, every meds has side affects but some of the side affects (if you experience any at all, not everyone does) usually go away. Look on the positive side, think positive thoughts. lexepro works well for anxiety.

yes, i guess i was just trying to get encouraged but that is too much to ask on a medical site.....:(

I had great results with a combination Lexapro and Seroquel. My diagnosis is probably different from yours though. We're all different and we all react differently to meds so asking others on a website about how they react won't give you much help.

I think it's great that you have taken a very positive step to getting yourself better by admitting you have a problem and now by taking the Lexapro.  I know you would like to hear lots of positive comments regarding the med and it's only natural as it will boost your confidence in taking it.  The only thing i will say is that every one has a different response to drugs and i reckon no two experiences are exactly the same.  One person's wonder drug could be another's nightmare, so i guess what i'm saying is keep an open mind about what people tell you, even positive.

Also depending on your metabolizm you may start to feel better from a week of taking to drug to upto a month or so.  Good-luck and wishing you good health.
