Does anyone ever get radid heart rate after laying down for extended time or before bowel movement?

I have been getting a increase in heart rate after I wake every morning, especially before a bowel movement? It happens every morning around the same exact time!! I wake at like 5:30 with a weird feeling in my gut and then I feel anxious, cold clammy hands and feet, slight increase in heart rate. I then feel like I need to have a bowel movement and I get up out of bed and my heart rate shoots up. I have a bowel movement and shortly after my heart returns to normal. My doc says I am experiencing some orthostatic intolerance "probably" made worse by my anxiety. I am on 75mg of zoloft daily and it seems to have helped a little but not much. Anyone get this??

A rapid heart rate is called tracycardia, I would suggest you repost this question in the heart rate forum....there is a wealth of information on this, we all get rapid heart rates from time to time , try the other forum, resurch it and decide if you think you need to see your doctor, if you do all these things and are certain your problem is due to anxiety then by all means come on back here and repost.  Good luck !!!

I have had every cardio test known to man, saw 2 cardiologists and 1 electrophysiologist and they all concurred that my heart is not the problem. I want to see a neurologist now but I am afraid that i am just feeding my anxiety at this point. Dont know, so confused.

Why a neurologist, perhaps  since some of your symptoms seem  to be related to bowel habits maybe try a gastoinologist, theres alot of " bowel" troubles that can cause many symptoms, I dont wnat to feed your anxiety either, but I believe its best to rule our physical aliments before blaing everthing on anxiety, it could be either , or , or a combination, Id really suggest seeing a gastro,  then you can rest assured its anxiety and take things from there,

My heart rate is a lot faster when I first get up in the morning, This used to freak me out but now I'm used to it and have realised that it is just what my body does. Perhaps it has something to do with being asleep for 8 hours, you heart rate slows when you are asleep so perhaps when you start to move around initially it is just higher than throughout the rest of the day whilst everything 'wakes up'?
Normally the more you are aware of your heartrate the higher it will go because we work ourselves up about it. People without anxiety normally don't even know what their heart is doing, it just beats away and they are unaware of it.

Can't comment on the bowel movement I'm afraid.

No need to comment on it and not asking for details just thinking  a visit to a gastro dr may help. alot of people with anxiety develop colitis, ulcerative colitis and a host of other alimaments that are bowel/ anxiety combo. the number one cause of colitis is stress. thats why i am strongly recommending a specialist for you rule out the bad thendeal with the rest.

OMG I can't believe it! When I read your problem, it was as though I was reading my own. I've been having this problem continuously since New Years Eve. I wake up with a fast heart beat around 5:00-5:30 almost every morning, followed by a bowel movement. And everything you described is exactly what happens to me. I've been to 2 Cardiologists and is now going to a gastrologist at the beginning of next week. I have no idea what it is. I also have a rapid heart beat after eating a meal, not snacks or something light, but a meal. The only times I don't wake up that way is when I don't eat any fruit the day before say like apples or grapes, then I seem to get constipated for a day or two, then it doesn't happen. It's only when I have a bowel movement in the morning. I will keep you posted on my findings...if any.
