Dry Heaving, and stress?

Hi there, I have a question and I want to know if anyone else has felt the same thing? Lately, I have been feeling really  nauseous at work to the point where I begin to dry heave at work, if any of you have experienced dry heaving it is not very comfortable and in fact can make it very hard to do normal everyday activities and chores like going to work. Lately, I have had to take a bunch of gum and ginger candy to help me with nausea, but I just want to know if anyone else deals with this problem? I have had this problem for years since I was in the first grade! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you for replying and giving helpful suggestions! I think it is stress related because of work. I am currently seeing a psychiatrist for my clinical depression and I do tell her about my dry heaving but she says it is definitely stress related. I do find that sucking on ginger candy and eating Matzo crackers definitely help the sensation! But it sometimes feels like my throat tightens up and it feels like I am choking

Thanks for replying, I have dealt  with random nausea for years it comes and goes,  I honestly believe it comes from my stress and the fact that I fear vomiting

I have dealt with it, however, not on the same level of severity as you experience it. Before I was being treated, I woke up every morning nauseated and when I got really stressed I would dry heave until I vomited. On bad days it still happens in spite of being on medication, but it's much better.

I would go see your regular doctor first and relay them this issue. Like Mumothree said, they will probably want to do some blood tests to make sure it's not a vitamin or thyroid issue. If those come back normal, I would request a referral to a psychiatrist to see if there is some medication you can start taking. This is interfering with your life and therefore it's an important issue. I really hope you get some help with this and feel better very soon. Until then, hang onto hope and know that I was there, but I got better. :)

You should see a Doctor over that issue. He may do some tests to see if its something related to a vitamin deficiency
