Effexor-wellbutrin-zoloft please let me know your experiance

Hi I am diagnosed with PTSD, OCD and anxiety.  I was on zoloft for about 8 months and gained 25 pounds I went form 108 pounds to 132.  I quit taking it about  a month ago.  My anxiety got bad again  so my pain management dr who is my only dr put me on wellbutrin and with in 2 weeks I lost half of that weight gain.
Well on welbutrin my anxity got very bad so I went to a walk in clinic and the Dr perscribed me effexor and a few XANAX to help while I wait for the Effoxor to work.  I went to pick them up and could not afford the effexor.  I dont want to get it if its going to hender my weight loss.  He told me it helped people lose weight.  From what I see on line that is not what people say.  PLEASE give me your opinion.
If I find out I dont want to risk gaining the weight back what do I do?   How do I tell him I think he is wrong and want something better?  Do I go to a better dr. He said he specializes in bipolar and social phobia.  PLEASE I NEED HELP.  I am in 2 weddings in the next few months.  I cant gain weight I wont fit in my dress but I cant get out of the house with debilitating anxiety.

I would have to agree that medications can and will affect us differently.  There are definitely pros and cons to taking meds, but other than the weight gain, did Zoloft work well for you?  As Paxiled said, it can be really hard to find the right med.  Also, are you currently in counseling for your anxiety?

Did you ever switch medications? If so, did you end up losing or gaining weight with the Effexor? I am having the same dilemma in regard to switching my meds.

Wellbutrin is for depression, not anxiety.  It can cause anxiety in somebody who suffers from it because it's designed to "charge up" a depressed person.  Effexor, like all snris and ssris, can cause weight gain.  Whether it will for you or not you won't know until you try it.  If the Zoloft worked, well, it's hard to find a med that works.
