Having Attacks When I don't have my phone...

I have noticed that if I can't find my phone, if it's dead, or if it has no signal (verizon wireless cellphone) I freak out really bad.  I kind of feel like if no one is around and I can't contact someone out of my home then I'm just screwed.  If I have an attack and can't find my phone, then my panic attacks kick in super hard and I find it hard to think and stand.  I get weak in my knees and start hyperventilating.  It's almost like someone just put a venomous snake on my head and I can't get away.  Does anyone else have this kind of attachment to their phones?

I dont ever go out without my cell phone. Its my lifeline not only in case I have a panic attack but if I break down, get lost in danger etc... Not having it on me would cause me great anxiety. I usually have it in my handbag or in a pocket. When home I could care less but when I am out and about it must be on me at all times.  To me its peace of mind...security!

I don't ever get to go out of my house much and there's nothing to do outside here.  My pollen allergies have been so bad I can't really go outside without coming in and feeling like absolute poo.  I have gotten in a habit of leaving my phone at the computer desk while I'm cleaning or cooking.  That way I know where it is at all times.  I know I can't go all the way to the mailbox without it.  I can't drive anyway.  It's not really a fear of driving, just that I'm a very bad at driving and practice doesn't and hasn't help.  That's another issue I have.  I don't have a car, because it would never get used. lol...  I'm so bad I scare myself.  I scared the person that gave me the test and they even put me on a restricted license.  I wish that I could drive better so I wouldn't have to depend so much on my phone.

When I'm driving alone I HAVE TO HAVE my cell phone....if I don't, I freak out.  I have a fear of not getting medical help if I need it, so naturally when I'm alone, my cell phone is my lifeline.  Maybe you could start doing little things without your phone.  Put it where you know exactly where it is, but maybe go outside or take a walk without it...maybe if you go a little farther each day, it will help you to not be so dependent on your phone...if you know you can do things without your phone and you are okay, then the next time you can't find it, maybe you won't have an attack or it won't be as bad.  Good luck to you!
