Hi, I'm doing my second year at university, and since first year anytime I sit down to study my head suddenly becomes heavy. I feel the heaviness at the back of my head and start to yawn every second....I thought i was a migraine but its been going on and its affecting my studies, i don't know why?...I need some help.

Just out of curiosity, why have you waited over a year to deal with this?

Am I correct in understanding that this ONLY happens when you SIT down? And that it happens EVERY time you sit down? It never happens any other time?
Is there any pain involved with this "heaviness" sensation?
Do you have a history of migraines? Anyone in your family have them? Does your vision ever get weird, like seeing flashing lights out of the corners of your eye?
I'm asking all these questions like it's going to help me give you some advice when I knew as soon as I read your post that the only advise I can give you is to see your doctor, sooner rather than later. In other words, don't wait another year!
I've never heard of anything like this. If it only happens when you sit down, it would seem that it has to have something to do with that particular motion or position. Pressure on your coccyx? Lower back problems? A disc that is ruptured or herniated? A slipped disc that could be pressing on a nerve only when you sit?
I could keep making this stuff up all day long, but you need a real answer and a real solution so you need to see a real doctor.
I'd start with your regular doc and see if he thinks you should see a neurologist, an ortho or what. Obviously something is out of whack and you can't live like this.
Call your doctor ASAP
I wish you the best
Peace
