Head pressure and blurry vision

I have had high anxiety for the last few months. I have expirenced this before and was on klonopin for 8 years. I stopped taking the klonopin this past Oct. And just recently started back on medicine last week. Last Saturday I took a half of a 25 mg. xanax ( never had it before) then on Tuesday morning I started taking 0.5mg of citalopram (celexa). Yesterday the dr told me to stop taking the celexa and continue with the xanax. Which I can take up to 4 times a day. I tried citalopram 50 mg back in 2010-2011 but was taken off of it because of increased anxiety and also sucidal thoughts. We decided the dr and I to try a baby dose of citalopram this time and see if it would help. Because I am at a different place now than I was back then. So I have taken 8 doses of the xanax so far which has been half a pill every time. My question is my vision was blurry to me before I started on the meds. I went to the eye Dr because I felt like I was going blind and still feel that way. But the eye Dr said my eyes look healthy and that my prescription has changed but only a little and still will need another pair of glasses. My family Dr said its anxiety related the feeling of my eyes and the dryness. Also the eye Dr said that as well. My head feels like there's so much pressure on it. Has anyone experienced this before? I'm trying to figure out if its the xanax causing this or just the terrible anxiety. I've had blurred vision before and was always told it was anxiety. I was on klonopin before and wondered if I needed to go back on that. The xanax calms me down but my heart beats fast after taking it. I need to get better I can't afford to not work.

Could you explain further?  Do you get periodic blurry vision followed when it subsides with the head pressure?  It sounds like a migraine related condition, which is vascular in nature.  It can often accompany anxiety, as blood vessels contract and expand when we get stressed and then relax and can drive the blood to the head when the vessels start to open up again.

Hi,
Yes, I've experienced the head pressure and vision problems; I have had  anxiety and menieres disease ( an inner ear issue) for many years. Although I was not taking medication at the time for any of my health problems. What helped a lot was a change in my daily diet and therapy regarding the anxiety. Anxiety often times coincides with other health issue, so maybe it is worth it for you to see another doctor for a second opinion, such as an ENT who could help you possibly get to the root of the head pressure... Also look into a CT scan and/or MRI, unless you've already done so...
Good Luck
