Headaches and Anxiety

I am a university student who is very new to anxiety. For a long period of time I used to live together with my fiancee. And her course ended before mine and she left back to our home country. Since that I started to have anxiety always worrying something will happen to me (health wise). Because I study in a foreign country with a lot of oily food. And I put on 20kgs of weight during a period of 4 yrs. Due to missing my fiancee I started worrying about my health and for a period of 3 weeks and had a hard time of sleeping due to anxiety. But when I returned home on semester break (December 17). My anxiety and sleep issues reduced. But still I know it affects me since whenever I am alone in my room I get slight anxiety thinking "I might get a heart attack". A midst all these I started to get headaches. As in sometimes I feel a nerve at the right side of my head faces a lot of pressure and it hurts. But it stays only for a little while and it goes away. And when I try to sleep my head hurts when I keep it on the pillow partially because the pillows are not so comfortable but I am sure the head irritation is not normal. When one of my friends came for a sleep over, I slept so well because of having some company which I guess reduces my anxiety a lot. Whenever I am alone, I find it difficult to sleep because of anxiety. I am not a fan of medication. But what should I do?? I mean I have seen posts which say headaches are normal because it comes due to anxiety. But it does not feel good at all. Please do advise.

You might even be able to resolve this with hypnosis since you seem to have a good understanding of the cause and are motivated to get a solution. At one time, I had a fear of flying but one hypnosis session was all it took to end that. They gave me a mantra to repeat a few times half an hour before my plane trips, then once in a while during the flight. It was "I relax quickly and easily, living life to the fullest, relaxing day by day."
It was just a light hypnosis and I didn't cluck like a chicken or do anything similar that hypnosis shows get people in an audience to do. I remember thinking after the session that it was so simple that I could have done it myself, just positive thinking and focusing.

The nerve pressure is likely nothing. Maybe it is an irritation response from the pillow.
So your problem is anxiety and worrying (for nothing it seems since you are just 23?) over getting a heart attack and bad health. If you have no reason to believe your heart or health is bad then you are likely ok, however you should talk it over with doc to get his opinion since you can't be diagnosed from here.

Anxiety can happen to anyone for various reasons, and in your case it seems situational due to loneliness and you said company helped reduce it when you went home. Medication is for people with such strong anxiety that there is no other solution, but you might not be needing that since you haven't even seen doc yet. You could try counselling too, but it is important to get that health fear out of your head so if a counselor can't resolve it then see a doctor for sure.
