Heart pain/ Anxiety

So my heart started to hurt and it has been this way for the past 4 days. Its kind of like burning feeling that comes and goes. I am really scared of doctors because I'm a hypochondriac. I'm not sure how much of this pain is related to anxiety and how much of it is real. I have been on anxiety medicine before about a year ago but then i stopped because i started to feel better. I'm kind of worried again any advice on what to do?

Hey

You shouldn't be afraid of doctors, they are experts who can tell you what you ought to do in this kinds of situation. You should have yourself checked if you have any health concerns. If it's a physical health issue then do the necessary treatments. If it's caused by your mental health issues then continue with your therapy.

I hope you get well soon. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help. :)

Happy Holidays.

Hi. First of all thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I started feeling the pain on the right side too. It's right in between my shoulder blades. So im guessing it wasn't my heart after all but rather my lungs. That also worries me. I did have a cold prior to this pain and did cough a bit. I am not sure if its related to that or something more serious. I might have to make an appointment with the doctor to be safe. Once again thank you.

I understand that sometimes anxiety may be out of control. I used to be a worrying type person.

Not sure if your burning feeling could be similar to the Gastroesophageal Reflux , which will cause the discomfort around chest area as well(heartburn).

Based on some saying, too much stress and anxiety might cause gastro discomfort.

I could imagine how those discomfort feeling will cause you to worry.

If I feel like my heart is not feeling well, I'll try to sleep slightly higher by using higher pillows (the height is up to own comfort), then try relax your body and breath in a comfort position (like sleep with open arms. Cough 1 or 2 times to open up your chest if you feel hard to breath.)

Hope you get well soon.

Merry Christmas.
