i've never had much luck with meditation; i've never been able to clear my mind.
Try guided meditation or deep breathing it will help you relax,also muscle relaxtion try to remember the day over and you have done all you could try to empty your mind and think of something pleasant
I just like to do things I like, after a harsh day, I try and unwind with TV, or play on my Xbox for a while, sometimes can take my mind of things. I try not to do these things for too long though, if i've had a bad day, I do those things, and try to spend some time with my parents aswell.
Whatever calms you down and makes you feel comfortable. Some people like reading or watching TV and others enjoy a personal hobby. I actually like to exercise which does wonders for me to wind down at the end of the day.
Reading has always been a wonderful way for me to relax.
Watching my favorite TV show.
And baking cakes and cookies. That really takes my mind off of things.
